I have never participated in Holy Thursday, but this year I did. It was interesting, but I didn't find it to be very unique, compared to a regular Mass.

I grew up going to Catholic schools and every Lent and Advent we'd have a communal Reconciliation service. It was the standard service where you have the usual priest(s) and several from the surrounding area. I've only gone to the "box" style confession a handful of times.
