There appear to be a lot of people visiting the board. Its kind of been abandoned, because there were only a couple of us still on the board. Discussion can
get a bit boring when there are only two people on a board. If more people would like to participate, we'd be interested in getting things started again .
If you'd like to start the discussions up again, please either post here, reply to a previous discussion or start your own.
I have never participated in Holy Thursday, but this year I did. It was interesting, but I didn't find it to be very unique, compared to a regular Mass.

Good Friday has always been important to me. I think the importance came from my father, who, although we didn't go to Sunday Mass, always tried to...

I recently watched Facing the Giants. I thought it was a good movie,
but it was a bit over the top in its Christian references to the point of almost being cheesy. I can't think of a particular instance that put it over the
top, just a combination of all of the little things. It may have been due to the fact that it was more of a Protestant type of Christianity than Catholicism.

Growing up, my family went from attending Mass periodically to only going on Christmas and Easter. At some point, we even stopped going on Christmas and
Easter. My dad, however, has always placed an importance on going to church on Good Friday. That is the day that my dad fought the longest for to try to keep
my brothers attending. Because of the emphasis my dad placed on Good Friday, up until five years ago I thought it was a Holy Day of Obligation.

I grew up going to Catholic schools and every Lent and Advent we'd have a communal Reconciliation service. It was the standard service where you have the

Those things that make perfect sense, but that you don't always think of or do?

feed in public, as long as they are modest about it. In my opinion, this woman crossed the line. When most women breast feed in public, you typically only
get a glimpse of their breast in the beginning and end. She, however, did not try to cover herself while the child was feeding. She was fully exposed the
whole time.

and before Communion. It used to be that you couldn't eat meat any Friday, hence the Friday Fish Fry tradition. Then it changed to only having to fast
from meat on Fridays during Lent. We also don't understand how fasting from meat made it okay to gorge yourself on fish.
